More birthday treats...

Things are hopping in the CREO kitchen lately!  I have had my apron on literally every day for the past 3 weeks.  'Tis the season for birthdays...and engaged couples are in the thick of wedding planning for the spring as well.  I have 2 weddings on the books for the next few months.  SO excited about those!

I already shared the Star Wars cake that I made for my own boys.  Literally, the day before their party, I had an order for another set of twins who were turning 4.  Their Mom was going all out with a party at an indoor pool for the kids and a party at home for the family.  She asked for 3 dozen cupcakes for the kids' party.  We decided on a beach/luau theme to match the swimming activity and the adorable invitations.  Cupcakes were ChocoMocha with Vanilla Buttercream and fondant toppers.  They make me pine for the beach!

Next up were 2 6" cakes, customized for each of her children.  A Disney Princess cake for her daughter and a DC Comics cake for her son.  We discussed several options for fondant characters, but in the interest of budget, decided to use some store-bought decor to embellish my designs.

The Princess cake was covered in rosette design make with tinted Vanilla Buttercream.  I love how it turned out - so lush!  I also made a fondant crown to sit atop the cake and surrounded it with the pre-made princesses.

For the Superhero cake, I hand-cut the logos for each of the characters and made the Batman-style message plaques for the top.  I LOVE how those turned out!

Thanks to Melissa for thinking of me for this very special day!

Off now to clean the kitchen.  Ugh..anyone free to help?

Confectionately yours!
